#de Protestcamp in der Wiener Lobau. Eine Gruppe junger Menschen blockiert Baumaschinen, um den Bau der Lobau-Autobahn und der sogenannten „Stadtstraße“ zu stoppen. Der Film begleitet die „Wüste“ genannte Besetzung über einen Zeitraum von fünf Monaten, unterteilt in drei Gesprächsrunden, in denen die beteiligten Aktivist:innen den aktuellen Stand der Besetzung diskutieren. Er begleitet die Aktivist:innen und ihre Beweggründe, geht der Frage nach, warum sich junge Menschen zu einer aktivistischen Tätigkeit entschließen und dafür einen Teil ihrer Freizeit opfern, und wie der Alltag in den Besetzungen aussieht.

Im Anschuss an den Film wird es ein Q&A mit dem Filmemacher geben.

A group of young people blocks construction equipment in an attempt to stop the development of the Lobau highway and the so-called “city street”. The film follows the occupation, nicknamed “Wasteland”, over the course of five months, divided into three discussion rounds where the activists recount the current state of their efforts. It addresses the activists, their motivations, and the question of why young people decide to sacrifice part of their free time to participate in activist movements, as well as what daily life looks like during the occupation.

After the film there will be a Q&A with the filmmaker.
